IMO, the Karens are buying.. those concerned about war were prepared a long time ago.

I chuckle at the Karens at the gun bars...
Testy attitudes, little peds sox, and unsure of which end of the gun is the working end.
Then.. they get all miffed when told they have to wait in a separate line to buy ammo for their new gun.

Be kind and patient.  That "Karen" is now a legal gun owner - another vote for 2nd A. freedoms.  Encourage them; guide them; and don't call them "Karens" anymore.

I  wouldn't bet on "Karen" voting appropriately.

I have had to take several NEW owners to the side , to teach , them , how to care for their charges

and explain , supply and demand in ref , to the ammo issues

it becomes taxing , trying to undo , all the BS they have been exposed to over the years

  CB

as to folks being on edge  , the further ya get in the sticks , the more ya see , around here , can NOT say about the big town , I DON'T  go there

Maybe not; but the odds are better now that they are gun owners, exposed to folks like you and me.  It's a process.

I'll agree that the odds are better, but still very skeptical. This is based off my cowboy friend Mortimer Smith(RIP) that would only vote for Demoncrats. We had many arguments over this very topic and he, like many, fully supported gun control.

I find people are Leftists today for a few reasons:

• Sex: infidelity, promiscuity, homosexuality, abortion
• Drugs: personal or family user
• Socialism: Big Government to run our lives
• Hive-Mind Hate: So obvious today

Democrats absolve themselves or their families for their sexual issues.

Those who are drug users, or condone drug use in their families, are almost always Democrats.

Some favor Socialism because they feel good helping their fellow man, with somebody else's money.

Or, they feel good because they get handouts from somebody else's money.

Socialists are Democrats:

• Need to feel good about themselves
• Need to join with the hive mind
• Strong desire to help his fellow man, using your money
• Feel guilt for acts committed by people long dead
• Belief in fixing the "wrong turn", i.e. environmentalism
• Society works for a common goal overseen by the State
• The individual is part of a larger collective whole
• Belief in experts who can socially remake our society
• Individual liberties are subservient to the collective good
• Uses Multiculturalism to break down tribal boundaries
• Big government runs every aspect of your life (Marxists/Communists)

I have yet to meet one single Democrat that does not fall into one or more of the above categories.

Hollywood falls into them all.

I have parted ways with long time friends who subscribe to the above.
For me, the above is just plain wrong, and not negotiable.

I have a different view on this one.  To me it appears that they are working hard to establish clear, prominent, and "defensible" boundaries between "tribes."

In my not-so-humble opinion, many of the accomplishments realized over the past century and a half toward developing a homogeneous society (we're all Americans!) have been set back at least fifty years - a process that began with the previous administration.  :(

My personal belief is that we are closer to civil war today than at anytime since the 1850's and 60's.  I sincerely pray that I'm wrong.  I don't want to see anything in this country like what I've seen in several worn torn countries.  No sane people will ever want the "hell on earth" that war brings.

Just the view from my foxhole....

Somehow, I just don't see a shooting civil war in this country in the foreseeable future.  Sure, there are folks concerned about their personal safety, but that's more due to uncertainty regarding riots and hoodlums, not a real worry about armed rebellion.  For all of their fiery rhetoric and nastiness, few of the extremists on opposite ends of the spectrum have the resources or the testicular fortitude to engage in all out warfare.

I would not mind seeing some responsible folks run for President in 2024, and hopefully remember that they were elected to represent ALL of the people, not just a narrow majority (or perhaps fewer) who put them in power.

LL,  When you look at what's going on now in many of our large cities, we're already in a limited civil war.  If Trump wins, you can bet there will be increased violence which will entail firearms.  How far it escalates is anyone's guess.

Like you, I don't foresee an 1860's style civil war but hot pockets of extreme armed violence is the kind of factional civil war I see on our doorstep.

Again, just the view from my foxhole...

These days before you buy a gun in a caliber you don't already own a gun in you'd better determine if ammo is available especially if you live in Kalifornia.  I hear 40 S&W is coming back.

Another word for friends like Mortimer Smith is "Fudd".  Those who can't get it through their thick skulls that the 2A has nothing to do with hunting.

JD, my neighbor spends a lot of time out your way.
He is always commenting how the stores in Reno and Carson City are all sold out.
Here in Sacramento metro, the popular pistol calibers sell as as fast as a new pallet arrives.
Crazy.
