Texas extended grips

Recommended Posts

I've seen these extended grips mentioned here from Texas Grips. I have one of the Ruger 44 special Flattops with the xr3 grip. I like the grip better on my original vaqueros. I was wondering if anyone here has put the extended grips on their own flattop or New Vaquero (supposed to be the same size) and how was the fit? Also of course how do they feel in your hand? Thanks

Seems like putting 1860 grip frames and grips on a SAA...or the Alchemista.

Interesting to see how this turns out.

FWIW I don't have dog in this fight.  I shoot (shot?) SAA and 1860 variations according to how I felt at any given match.

Does someone make those extended grips for Older Vaqueros?

I have very large hands and had some made out of mesquite for my OM Vaquero 45s. They've worked out great for me. I'm seriously considering having some made for my 1858 Remingtons. Henry Lance is great to work with.
