Gunsmith to slick up Baikal double?

Philosopher

Recommended Posts

I have a Remington SPR 200 in 12 gauge with 20 inch barrels. This is  a Baikal that Remington imported, has a single trigger and screw-in choke tubes.

Who would you recommend to slick this up?I

If they were driving distance from St. Paul, MN it would be even better.

Thanks!

Gunslinger does excellent work.

Someone closer to you that does very good work as well is:

Howdy Philosopher,

Coyote Cap did my Baikal nearly 20 years ago (still going strong).  But is in bad health and retired.  However, I read on his website ( http://coyotecap.com ) that he transferred all his parts and business, and that he trained a new gunsmith on the cowboy guns, and that business is Ahlmans mentioned above by Marauder (he beat me to it).  Since you mentioned driving distance, it might be worth checking them out.  But if you don't mind shipping, Gunslinger as above or Johnny Meadows would certainly be good.  Or you could drive to Texas or Arizona.  Shoot a little on the way, maybe?  :)

Thanks to everyone for the recommendations. I think I'll call Ahlman's and see what say about the Baikal. If they think they can do it I'll probably give them a shot, otherwise I'll mail it off.
