What would be a "late model" car?

How new does it have to be to be "late model"?

Forty's thread about being stopped got me to remembering.

I used to have a "late model white Chevrolet sedan".

It was a 69 in 74. Five years old. Would that be"late model"?

Late model means it wasn't smoking too bad and looks like 90% of the dang cars on the road.

When I called 911 to report a car stuck partially into the right lane on the freeway the 911 dispatcher said “What kind of car is it?”

”I’m not sure. It looked like a mid-size Toyota. They all look alike these days.”

She said “Yes they do.”

Late model? Honestly, who can tell? If it isn’t shiny it’s not a late model? I have no idea.

If someone told me to “report any late model black cars” I would be reporting all that didn’t stand out as older.
