Been trying to stay out of this... But it keeps popping up to the Top.

So here's my Opinion...............   Participation Ribbons are for Looser's !!!

And they're a part of the reason that many kids today are so Screwed Up....

They've been told their whole Life that there are no Looser's... Everyone is a Winner.

I could go on and on....

free this, gimme that, you're not responsible for your actions..........

But you could just tune into the Commiecrat Convention and hear the same BS.......

Let's get a Group Hug now..............

So someone that works hard at a particular category attends a match that didn't draw in others in that category would be a loser for accepting an award?

Perhaps you need to define what a Participation Ribbon is.

Phantom,

I don't think I need to define what a participation ribbon is.

I stand by what I said.

At our monthly matches (2x a month actually), our club doesn't  give out awards, ribbons, or pins of any type, not even for clean matches.  We have a fun match and then later that day the scores are sent out by email and posted on our webpage and Facebook page.  Even just the idea of having participation or clean match awards has never been mentioned, and it is not likely to be.  We like it the way it is.

I was reading this and thought, "That is exactly how our club does it!".  Then I looked at the poster and what do you know... it is our club president.  :D

What would you call the people that were disappointed when they got a badge vice a buckle at EOT in 2017?

I shot long range BPCR.  The same people always ended up winning.  Some of them complained about having awards everywhere and started declining them. The match director just started giving the top shooters their money back.
