Matthew Duncan
No, not yet. As the generation that sacrificed is replaced with the "freebie" generation the decline will accelerate.
Utah Bob #35998
Well, I see a lot of chest thumping so-called patriots these days. I’m reminded that patriotism can be the last refuge of the scoundrel. But I know there are millions of truly patriotic Americans who believe in the principles of freedom outlined in the Declaration of Independence. I have never referred to myself as a Patriot. I reserve that term for men like the 56 who signed that document. But I am a quietly patriotic American and would put it all on the line for my country. Blackwater 53393
I’m patriotic. I stand when the flag passes and I actually sing the National Anthem along with those who perform it. I vote at every election. I step up to help in emergencies when I’m able and I support and applaud our troops and I back the police and law enforcement when they are right. I publicly challenge governmental overreach and the denial of Constitutional rights. I taught my son and I teach my grandchildren that right is right and our nation and our Constitution are built around and for the citizens! I have donated my time, my resources, and my own and my family’s money to local, state, and national youth programs. Whether this makes me a patriot or not can and will be left to others to decide. Forty Rod SASS 3935
In North and Central Arizona? Not even close to being dead. I can stand in my front yard and see several dozen flags flying, parades almost on a monthly basis when C-19 isn't causing distancing, veterans running all over the state, and on and on and on. Dead? Hell, it isn't even taking a cat nap here.
DeaconKC
Nope, around here if you want to burn a flag, you better be wrapped in it! Last SIU student who tried it got the stuffing slapped out of him. The biker who did it [yeah a 1%er] was loudly cheered.

Raylan
For the elites, for the multinational corporations, for academia, for federal and state bureaucrats, for the overwhelming majority of individuals living in the blue cities and metroplexes, for leftists and progressives and most democrats, for teachers unions, for the MSM, for Hollywood, for the oligarchs of social media, for those who write the textbooks for our kids and grandkids: yes patriotism, the belief in individual liberty, and faith is long dead and gone. There is a reason that some parts of our nation are called derisively fly over country, that people who express patriotism are called deplorable, hateful, racist, fascist.............. Waxahachie Kid #17017 L
It's not dead....not around here. I would like to say it is dead in some progressive, liberal, leftists, socialist/communist/terrorists...but that may be inaccurate. It may be that it isn't dead in them, it may mean they never were patriotic, and believe in what we stand for, in the first place. Some call it ignorance, some call it stupidity, and some may call it potentially dangerous. They say youth is wasted on the young, yet, some of these types are not young, so they have even less of an excuse. You know, it's a heck of a thing. At one point, in the not too distant past, we fought over civil rights, and poverty, and foreign dictators. Now many fight about gender identity, or what bathroom they think they need to use, or if someone's faith will cause them to refuse to bake/sell a cake, or disrespect the flag and what it stands for. All one has to do now is say: "that offends me", and corporate America, the media, and the libotards, in Congress, loses their spine, and bows down (or takes a knee) to what ever wind is blowing at that moment, from whatever is a cutting edge "protest". Still patriotism is not dead....yet...except in the minds of the ignorant/stupid/uneducated/immature. All of us need to prove patriotism is alive, and well, come election day, or else all this will just get worse. Not voting is a vote for them. As far as our sport is concerned, this is a matter of life and death. As the Bible says...."choose life". W.K.
