To answer your question, we allowed ourselves to become convinced that we were doing a few things wrong and we let things slide!! A few voices from the wilderness tried to warn us and some of us listened, but most just accepted that these new ideas were the right thing to do!! The world moves faster today and folks don't take the time to reason out these ideas. Most of this stuff is described in those notes and missives that outline Political Correctness and how it is intended to be used to subvert our society. Now we find ourselves outflanked and becoming outnumbered. It'll be hard now, to put the toothpaste back into the tube, but somebody put it in the tube in the first place, so we know it can be done. We MUST begin reclaiming our rights and we'd better do it soon!! I'm afraid we'll have to use the tactics our adversaries are using now to get the attention we need to promote our cause!! I could fill my car up for less than $3.00, drive back and forth to school, and back and forth to work., and STILL have gas to go on a date on Saturday night!! The car held 12 gallons when it was run dry.

The car held 12 gallons when it was run dry. I started working at Union 76 station owned by a friend's dad in 1956. Gas was as low as 17 cents a gallon, but was usually 21 cents. A can of motor oil, STP or Pennzoil was two bits. Recycled oil was 15 cents a can. I bought five Michelin X Stop tires for my Pontiac in 1969 for $ 120.00 including balancing and mounting them. I got a bit of a trade for the fiberglass Wide Oval tires (POS) that came with car.

There’s a restaurant here in Houston called The Lazy Dog that will serve you on their patio if you have your dog. we were there for lunch when we saw they were selling what they called, “TV Dinners” for take home to cook in the oven. We tried it, and all the portions were separated by the design of the aluminum tray. And it was delicious! the waxed Halloween candy I remember the most were the wax lips.
