Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
Tabasco.com Quote SHIPPING RESTRICTIONS WHY ARE THERE SHIPPING RESTRICTIONS TO CALIFORNIA? California has adopted a law commonly known as Proposition 65 that requires manufacturers and sellers of goods that contain substances “known to the State of California” to be likely carcinogenic or causes of potential birth defects to post warning labels on their products to help California consumers make an informed decision whether to purchase those products. California’s Proposition 65 list contains over 800 substances and is constantly changing. While we are confident that our food products are free of any Proposition 65 listed substances, we face a problem when dealing with small volume giftware items manufactured by third parties on our behalf. While we make every effort to insure that these items are free of Proposition 65 substances, this process is not foolproof and the cost of testing for hundreds of substances over scores of small volume giftware products is cost prohibitive. When California expanded the Proposition 65 warning label requirements in 2018, we were reluctantly forced to conclude that it would be better not to sell our non-food giftware items in the State of California rather than to risk a Proposition 65 violation. Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967
One must search hard to find anything sold in California that does not have a Prop 65 label. Why... if you eat a truck tire, it just could cause cancer!

Pat Riot
Manufacturers are declining to sell and ship items to California due to Prop 65. It is not that they cannot sell or aren't allowed to ship products. They can sell and ship products with the label / warning. They are afraid of liabilities or consequences later on. A good example is Ruger. They will not send certain accessories and apparel to California residents. Not because it's illegal but because they are afraid of legal repercussions later on. Knowing how this S***bag state operates, I can't really blame them. 2 Years, 5 Months, 26 days....OR 909 days until I retire and get the heck out of here...Tick Tock.... Tequila Shooter
I turned down orders 3 times to be stationed in CA, so I've never had to live there. That said I've seen other states that Californians have migrated to and they tried to change things to the way CA does it. Of course I'm not saying all Californians are bad by any means, but some of them I just don't understand, how can you wreck a state then move to another state and think that if you do the same things you'll get a different outcome. Jonny Vero
It is certainly a struggle to live here in California and disagree with 95% of the political decisions made by the State. I grew up here in northern California and the area is beautiful. I have driven across the country twice and just haven't found a place I'd rather live... yet. Our local CAS club has been slowly dwindling with folks moving to Idaho. Maybe I'll think about that once my kids finish high school.

Ocasio-Cortez is so stupid, she thinks this is something new... When I found the mate to my Vaquero Bisley 357, the shipper was a pawn broker who would not ship to CA. He was more than willing to hand-walk the gun 3 blocks up the street to another FFL who was willing to ship. I am very grateful to him being willing to make the sale, take my money, and assist in getting it shipped to me. I first saw this concept with Summit Racing, back in my car building days.
