Utah Bob #35998
I said Not the lady. But yeah, that’s her. She did not design the helmet. She used one though. The question remains.

Major Crimes
Was that to provide extra protection to the head because they were sticking it up to take photo's/film? It reminds me a bit of the German snipers helmet from WW1.

From the link I posted. Quote If you’ve ever held a Bell & Howell Eyemo to your eye while wearing the M1 Helmet, you’ve probably experienced the same difficulty the US Army Signal Corps Cameramen did during WWII. The brim of the helmet prevents the camera from sitting properly against the eye, and unless you move it at a certain angle, the helmet is in the way. The problems of operating a camera with a standard helmet were noted by photographers in the field causing the Army Pictorial Staff to come up with a special design that would not only work with certain equipment, but provide maximum protection for the user. Only 100 of these special visor helmets were made. Making them rather valuable and prone to counterfeiting.

I have seen those on so many films and documentaries, the German soldiers with the rivers sticking out of their helmets. Thanks Major.

It is a helmet that allows a photographer to get the brim of the Helmet, M-1 out out of the way so they could properly look through the viewfinder of the camera. Not to the unwashed and uninformed readership here though. We are trying to eddicate . I was surprised at the uncharacteristic brevity of your post which are usually much more erudite in tone and structure. But you technically win. I haven’t decided what the prize is yet. I don’t own a T14.
