A reloading question for .45 Colt ( The Long ones)

Recommended Posts

Thank you for your reply. I was mainly asking about the powder because I know nothing about it.

I use another in my reloading. But thanks for the information, sir.

It is a slooooow day here, and my mind begins to wander some.

I guess I was just trying to spark some conversation.

I haven't ran across any IMR Target Reportedly, it has a burn rate similar to Bullseye.  I agree with Red Dot (or Promo) for 45 Colt.  I've used Trail Boss and Unique as well, but prefer Red Dot.

I have recently started to load .45c with CleanShot, which is reported to be very similar to 231, Bullseye and other popular powders. I am very happy with the results i am getting. Good group size, clean burning and very consistent from the powder measure on my 550. I believe I saw that Target was in the group with 231,Bullseye etc. Worth trying if your initial tests look promising.

I realize, this is of no help to the OP.  However.  Ima dry hole.  I don't load ANY smokeless powders anymore.  For anything.  At All.  I load with APP.  Very complex recipes too.  Fill case to bottom of projectile.  Crimp case around projectile.  DONE.  The presumes of course, the case is already primed, resized and ready to load.

Mondays can be real boring.  I'm bored and needed something to share.  You know, provide some activity.  Mental activity.  Physically, I'm a Monday Sofa Security Specialist and this reply provided some distraction.  If it is chosen to ignore this missive I will understand fully and not be offended in the least.
