Utah Bob #35998
Only works with a short sword. And if it’s short, why bother?
Cat Brules
Thanks! I can’t watch both in “one setting,” and this is very interesting. I used to fence, which isn’t the same as using a 2-handed combat sword. I like it! Cat Brules
Utah Bob #35998
I can see carrying it like that on the March but not in a fight.

Ramblin Gambler
Shows what I know. I thought those half scabbards similar to what the guy in the first video had (but without the shelf) were common back then. I bet if they wanted to draw it from the back they figured out a way. Pat Riot
I bought a shotgun scabbard that goes on one's back. It took a few tries but I got it to work just fine. The key is having only one anchor point up high. I imagine it would work for a sword, like in the first video, but I have determined that a shotgun scabbard is only good for one thing...making money for the guy selling them.
