Good news from the S&W Historical Society

Recommended Posts

After an endless wait of about 7 or 8 weeks, I got my letter from Smith and Wesson today.  My 44 Hand Ejector Third Model is bona fide!  It left the factory on July 1, 1940, one of six in a shipment to a store in Albuquerque New Mexico.  The records indicate that this revolver was shipped with a 4 inch barrel, nickel finish, and with checkered walnut Magna silver medallion square butt grips.  So it appears to be all original, with the original serial numbered grips on it.  I'm a happy camper!
