Recycling aluminum

Recommended Posts

A quick note;

When recycling aluminum cans, separate the clean cans from cans with bullet holes in them.

Clean cans get more $$$ than cans with bullet holes in them.

If they find 1 can in your lot, the whole lot is classified as contaminated and brings the lower price.

And remarry which might be considered recycling yourself.  ;)

 .... could that be "repurposedly recycling yourself"

 ........................ and all this time I thought recycling meant riding your bike around the block again ......... :P

I think that was a joke. Least I hope so. Smash 'em good and the scales won't know.

Oh, I see.  I’m in California and I couldn’t imagine goofiness over the simplest things beyond what I’ve seen here.

Ok, here’s a potential problem. You recycle some cans you’ve used for shooting, each can has 1orv2 mg of lead. They get melted down into a 1000 kg pig of aluminum.  The pig is found to have .5 ppm of lead and is rejected

The vaporization point of lead is only a little higher than the melting point of aluminum. The lead vaporize and not contaminate the aluminum.
