there is a Crown with a R under it on the frame in front of the cylinder.

there is another crown with JL under it on the frame where the grips would be.

Thanks Renegade Ripley

Do you know how many countries used a Crown over an R?

You have to match the Crown design as well as the letter style.

Would need photo of Proof Mark to ID.

Yes I do know that a lot of countries used a Crown over an R, which is why I provided a link to the proof marks so that the OP can identify what he has.

This is an Albanian Gripless Grappling pistol, or something else. :ph34r:

I think not. The Albanian proof marks is cross over a bat with a cape. Also they would have a coffin on the cylinder, indicating it was safe to fire with silver bullets.

Revolvers of this style are usually referred to as VeloDogs

They are also known as Bicycle Guns or Cycling Revolvers.

Used for discouraging dogs that liked to chase cyclists.

Velo= velocipede (bicycle).
