Several months ago I started buying all the  hornady 405 ammo available,  so I'm good. Just letting others know. At that time loaded ammo was about $45 for 20 rounds.

I have a Browning Model 1895 in .30 U. S. Krag (.30-40 Krag) with a Providence Tool Co. Model 21 Lyman sight.  IT IS A MARVELOUS SIGHT FOR THIS GUN!

I'm considering one for my Browning Model 1886 in .45 U. S. (.45-70 Springfield) as well.

They look a little strange but work very well.

Great buy, I’ve always liked the 95, why not in 30.06?

Winchester is running a limited edition run. I've been searching the internet since may for one and finally one came up on gunbroker.

I wanted the 405 because it's a straight wall case -and rimmed. Should be easy to load and  It's a oddball just like me.:D

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally installed the recoil pad ( kickeez magnum).

Holly Cow it kicks way more than the marlin 444.

I can't even imagine what it would have done to my shoulder with the steel butt plate !

Isn't it great to get and play with a new toy? Congratulations!

Pulling out a forgotten toy from the safe is almost as fun. Naw, it's gotta be new!

Because when I bought this one everyone was getting an -06.

I've always likes the .30 Krag and I've always like to be different.

Took me almost three months to find one.....in Scarsdale, NY.  (I rescued it)..... and had it sent to the gun shop I worked in at the time.
