I noticed this thread on the Wire:

Does anybody know the back story?

Go on line and read the July 2020 Cowboy Chronicle. That should answer most of your questions.

Thanks, Yul.  The article was informative.

Make sure you read the articles from the Wild Bunch also.

I wonder if this has any implications about SASS going public. I remember several years ago there was a lot of talk about SASS going nonprofit. I suppose the Wild Bunch will still have ownership, just retired from running SASS.

Does anyone else think that it’s suspicious that they all left at one time

No.  After something like forty years, they're just passing the torch.

SASS is alive and well, and with some "fresh and younger blood" should thrive.  ;)

I think they have mis-stepped the retirement and stepping down process.  Most companies don't have the entire board step down at once. No one is in place to assume the leadership positions being vacated. So now the search begins!.  Usually knowing a Board member is leaving you identify the replacement prior to the person leaving.

The article didn't say, so I have to assume the Wild Bunch still own SASS?

I see nothing suspicious or awkward here. The Wild Bunch had a great run with the business/game we all enjoy. New leadership has stepped in as they’ve retired into a well-earned next chapter.

SASS is a privately owned business and the inner finances are none of our business.

The shoots and people are still here, and that’s what matters.
