It's all very sad.

Without getting into a lot of detail, we have experienced vandalism where I work.  Hard to believe.  I fear for the future.

What is really sad is even statues of President Grant who defeated the south and stopped the Klan from their terror against blacks and got the 15th amendment allowing blacks to vote was torn down.  Supposedly because he inherited a slave.  No one remembers that he worked with the slave and set him free instead of selling him even though he was broke at the time.

Vandalism, pure and simple, in the thin guise of "protesting".  All it will do is polarize everyone, into one camp or another, instead of bringing anyone together.  Anyone that supports this kind of lawlessness, is fooling themselves when they try to justify it as being legitimate protests against real or imagined mistreatment.

You cannot hide from history, or, as I believe Edmund Burke stated to the effect, that, if you don't study history, you are doomed to repeat it.

Monuments can be a really great teaching tool, for our children, and our grandchildren.  We can point out what the person(s) did, and, if need be, emphasize what they did wrong, and why we don't advocate that sort of thing anymore.

This mindless action has to stop....and people need to step back and think, and consider the ramifications of this vandalism.  :

So far, there is no vaccine for: A. corona virus, or B. 'stupid".....either one.

Pards....we all better get out and vote this year...if we want to save our sport from all the insanity that is going around.

W.K.

The real problem are the people that won't vote because they don't like either candidate. They fail to realize that not voting for one is actually a vote for the other.

They need to decide which is the lesser of the two evils. Pandering to these protesters that are destroying our country or standing up for the Constitution and the rule of law.

This is an organized and concerted effort!!  It’s one of the first steps in destroying our heritage and rewriting history!!

Don’t be fooled into believing that this is just vandalism or that it is the work of a push for anything good!!!

It’s what happens when we teach “the tests” and don’t teach history.

That's only partially correct, Dave....

There are literally programs now underway to ensure that a large number of those non-voters votes are "cast and counted."  Guess who'll be getting 'em this year.   :(

How about indicting people like Soros on charges of inciting and supporting theses activities and freezing his assets.  Lake the argument that his support has resulted in deathes, property damage and go on from there.

He and others who bankroll these uprisings are too well insulated; think ‘the Clintons’.

We are seeing Stalinism and Maoism in action. If our federal agencies do not act it may be up to the American citizenry. We have seen that certain states and cities will not act.

If people think or thought that certain right-wing groups were paranoid  nutjobs in the 60’s up until now regarding Communism and Socialism infiltration of our country perhaps now they will see that perhaps the nutjobs have been right all along. And that perhaps now it is too late.

God, bless America.

Lord preserve this nation and its people from those who would use race and division to destroy it in pursuit of power and control; who would undermine the foundational principles of individual liberty. And spare my children and all children from the rule of the mob and totalitarian utilitarianism of the "greatest good for the greatest number" as determined by those that would rule over others.

History is not there for you to like, or dislike. It's there for you to learn from. These ignoramuses don't, and never will get that.

The people organizing these events know exactly what they are doing. Unfortunately they have it easy as we now have several generations of people in this country that cannot think for themselves.

Critical thinking seems to be going the way of the dinosaurs. :(

The violent removal of statues and defacing of historic monuments around the country brings to mind the purges and pogroms of the early communists of the last century.

This isn't limited to the BLM movement. Here in the Southwest statues of Don Juan de Onate are being destroyed because of his treatment of native Americans.

Just because we object to historic fact doesn't  mean we can, or should, try to erase it.

Learn not to repeat our mistakes ,and move forward.

Just one man's opinion.

The 54th monument has been defaced in the past by suspected white racists. Makes sense. This time the culprits could be the same. Payback, in their minds, for the destruction of Confederate statues,  or really ignorant BLM hooligans.
I’ve been to Boston. Could be either side.

No trouble in Idaho. My fellow citizens and me with my 10 3-1/2" protected the protestors and they left for Washington.  :D

Somehow, the fake media missed us.  ;)

This is what happens when people want to take God out of schools, politics, and basically every facet of life. Without a spiritual higher authority to answer to, people start behaving in the manner in which we've seen.

Add to that no sports to watch, amusement parks to attend, and nothing else to do due to COVID-19, this is the only activity people can come up with to focus their attention. I bet half of them are protesting and rioting out of sheer boredom.

And I'm pretty sure the "food" at places like McDonald's and the like aren't helping people's mental health or ability to make good decisions, either. Garbage in, garbage out so to speak.

It's just a sad state.

Communist party showing how easy it is to topple America and take control. There won't be any Red Dawn, they will just suddenly have complete control.

It’s either Soros or Putler behind everything pulling strings.

We need bats with iron cores. I used one as a bouncer in a bar in Kali during the 1950s. It worked well although it's no substitute for my 10 gauge 3-1/2" double with my warthog load of Holy Black.

did you know Nathan Bedford Forrest started the Klan to resist harm done by carpetbaggers in the post-war South.  It went bad so quickly that Forrest distanced himself from it.  I blame them for the image that the battle flag apparently represents today.
