Trigger Mike
does anyone have experience with the xt22 in 22 mag? It holds 14 in the magazine, but the manual says it needs a 500 round break in period. Curious about accuracy and reliability.
Crazy Gun Barney, SASS #2428
back in the day (I find I am using that expression more often), when a brick of 22's were only 9.99, that 500 round break in would have happened in the first couple days and had fun doing it. Sorry, dont know anything about that gun or magazine.... but have fun doing that break in period... be a little more expensive than $9.99.
J. Mark Flint #31954 LIFE
I have one. It needs the break in for sure. thats a lot of ammo at .22 mag prices. So far it has not performed adequately for me to recommend one
Chili Ron
Howdy, 22 rimfire semi auto rifles and pistols abound. Pepole argue night and day about which is the best and modification bits and pieces almost drip from the internet. 22mag...not so much. Ive found 22 mag semi auto need to be clean clean clean and the ammo is way more expensive. I bought a 22 convertible ruger a while back. I bet I haven't shot 10 boxes thru the mag cylinder. The reqular 22 empties filled a few 3 pound coffee cans. Now if you want to put 22 mag in a bolt rifle will take pdawgs right well. But you buy what you want. We all learn from our misteaks. Best CR if the money is burning a hole in your pocket try the 1911 in 9mm.
Sedalia Dave
I have yet to read a single positive review on any semi-auto pistol chambered for 22 mag.

I think Volquartsen makes a .22 mag pistol in one of their 'Scorpion' style pistols..... but I haven't been privy to any test data from anyone who has one. Good luck! ..........Widder
Trigger Mike
Maybe I can talk myself out of it then. I have a Sig 1911-22 and love it but the 22mag holds 14 which seemed cool. I have a Sig 938 in 9mm that is basically a small 1911 in 9mm. I also have the Ruger convertible and rarely have ever put 22 mag in it.
Wyatt Earp SASS#1628L
I don't think I'd ever buy a firearm that needs 500 rounds of breaking in just so it operates properly.
Chili Ron
Howdy, I saw 500 round breakin on several pistols that didn't need it. I think some clown came up with that in a meeting. One shot a little to the right and break in didn't help. I just aim a little to the left.... Best CR adjust the sights?? maybe when I get around to it. And a range. I have nothing but good to say about the operation of the Kel-Tec PMR-30. It's not small but it's not heavy. In the proper holster it would make a good woods gun. After you posted this, I was reminded my neighbor whose father in law runs a gun store in town does.use it as a woods gun in a shoulder holster. He says he likes it. Then again, when his son in law shot his father in law he let the son in law come to his house. His father in law insults him a lot more since then. Chili Ron
Howdy, One stray thought. If the 22 magnum didn't exist, do you think anyone would want to invent it? Best CR

BUT, would the .17 HMR exist if it weren't for the .22 mag? Probably not. On the other hand, the .17 Hornet is a barn burner and would probably be more popular. ..........Widder
