Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474
Sorry to learn this. As my wife and I are service brats, children of WWII vets, we grew up hearing her music in the messes and at home. Later, when I joined the Governor Generals Foot Guards, there were still a lot of vets around, in the mess at the Cartier Square Drill Hall. I did a lot of the courting of my wife in Foot Guards and Cameron Highlanders messes, dancing to the music from Vera Lynn's era. We still enjoy her music.
