Suggestion for the Police "problem"

All those celebrities, media, activists, etc... who want to defund the police and/or want them replaced can sign a petition with their name address and phone #; then when a 911 call comes in a dispatcher can call them and they can go out on the call and "peacefully resolve any problems." Should they fail to respond to an emergency call they would then be charged with the new felony crime of insufficient wokeness and failure to promote peace in their community. This would be punishable in addition to re-education camps with the permenant loss of the right to vote, loss of any and all access to social media and the internet, loss of any right to speak on any subject related in anyway to politics, and the requirement that they wear a scarlet A on all their clothing. They would also be barred from ever calling 911.

 

People who do not want to defund or replace the police would of  course recieve the normal Police or EMT response to any 911 calls they made.

That's bit complicated and may result in more incarceration. And that's expensive.

Instead, I propose a record be kept of those wanting to defund the police and, using our computer equipment, program a system to route any of their 911 calls to the the Woke Peaceful Resolution Department, who will come and reason with those in need of their services.

Everyone else's calls would go through normal 911 channels.

Someone suggested to me that the police on patrol should not be armed. That way, they would not be able to shoot anyone. I tried to point out that the police are often in life threatening situations that require them to be armed in order to defend themselves. Their response was "they should call 911 to get a SWAT team to assist them if they are attacked".

Peoples is stupid.  I've had more than one person tell me that the police should not be allowed to shoot at anyone until after they had been shot at.  I'm not giving anyone a free shot at me.  Another person was bitching that I had no reason to pull my pistol just because her son had pointed a gun at me.  "It's just a gun!  Are you afraid of a little gun?  What kind of cop are you?"    And then there's all the "Why don't you just shoot it out of his hand?" folks.  The  stupid  is incredibly strong in some people.

I think there is something to taking some jobs away from the Police.  Let's start with NARCAN.  Expensive stuff, and really should only be administered by ER docs.  Next, First aid kits.  Really.  Call a paramedic instead.  Fire extinguishers are next.  Expensive and time consuming to maintain.  Really, we're already paying for all that fire equipment and Firefighters to man it anyway.  Next.  Let's do away with all those tape measures, cameras, paint, pens and pencils and accident report books.  Let the Auto Insurance companies work it out.  I think we can put Missing persons, runaways and Domestic Violence in the family issues category.  Let the Social workers figure those out.  Hey, they shouldn't be enforcing DUIs anyway.  I think we can put that one back on the Insurance companies too.  Since gas is cheaper, might encourage the the automakers to build some really solid trucks anyway.  Assaults.  Let fight it out.  Might even have to start putting self defense classes in high school.

The folks that got up on stage, and advocated to defund the police, are obviously pandering to the crowd/mob, and the simple minded.  They needed their 15 minutes of fame, and to make themselves look like they are speaking for the "oppressed".  But what they advocate makes no sense.  They let their backsides overload their months.  It may seem like a paradox, but in order to be free, we have to have laws, and we have to hire folks to make sure the laws are obeyed.

If an officer is unworthy to be an officer, then fire them, and/or prosecute them.  Not sometimes, but every time.    

If nothing else, this should forewarn us that we, our family, our friends, our co-workers, all the people we know, need to vote this year.  We cannot let these ignorant people, and their idiotic ideas, (any more than we already have) get elected to any office...not even a dog catcher.

There are people who expect the worst from almost everyone.

I worked with some over the years.

Anything I said was twisted and viewed in the most negative way possible.

This type person given a badge and gun would be a nightmare.

for instance....

I was assigned to a new fort and reported in and it was a mess due

to lost duffle bag.  

Just after I got settled an officer came back from leave.

We were introduced and I said, 'Good morning. Ive heard a lot about you.'

He took that as a negative statement and I was assigned duty as far from him

as possible.  In a few months he substituted me for another specialist and I

was assigned to another post a thousand miles away.

It worked out I enjoyed the new fort just fine.

People with this negative attitude shouldn't be cops.

And I have personally known several cops from my graduation class.

There are real good ones.

I think they should take away any less than lethal force options away from the police.  If you resist in any way, they just shoot you.  Over the course of time, less people will resist, and there will be less uses of force.  Problem solved.
