Trailrider #896
What's this "bison" stuff? Them's bufflers! Just remember... You can't roller skate in a buffalo herd. But you can be happy if you're a mind to!

Cat Brules
Nice! We don’t often get to see buffalo in a herd, running along like that. Almost sad to see though, when you realize (as we have been told) that in the 1800s a herd of buffalo might have numbered 100,000 or more. Injun Ryder, SASS #36201L
Custer State Park, early 1990's: Took a dirt road in the park and wound up in the middle of a buffalo herd that was grazing. Drove very slowly through them and they were just a few inches from the truck! Have some great pictures somewhere.

Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474
Wood Buffalo Park outside Edmonton around 1955 or '56, my Mother & Dad & I were on a camping trip and took a drive through the Bison enclosure. The driver of the car in front of us got a little impatient and blew his horn to move the adults blocking him, then tried to push through them. Didn't work. A large bull took exception to being pushed and displayed his annoyance by bashing the front and side of the car.

Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
Migratory routes have been altered by highways, dams, cities. in Europe migratory routes used to cross borders, now the routes pretty much parallel borders, just inside the former mine fields. It was in 1990. I was taking a picture of a geyser erupting while my daughter was sitting on a bench behind me. When I turned around, I told her not to move. The buffalo was grazing and had moved up towards her while I was taking pictures. It kept grazing and moving on away from us.
