Dirty Dan Dawkins
U.S. JUNE 13, 2020 / 3:01 PM / UPDATED AN HOUR AGO Mr. Rogers suspended from PBS. Class, racial privilege cited. Phillip McKracken (Rueters) - PBS executive Jack Mehoff released a statement today that the long running show Mr. Roger's Neighborhood would be indefinitely suspended, citing the show's blatant display of racial and economic inequality. The suspension is pending the conclusion of an independent advisory board’s investigation into the show. The investigation was largely prompted by several longstanding complaints from Nigel Humdinger, Professor Emeritus of Sociology at Yale University. Professor Humdinger said, "Mr. Rogers is a poor, poor program for our youth to watch. For one, who is actually that happy, and why should unhappy people have happiness rubbed into their faces? Why should PBS be represented by a suburbanite white male, and use a captive audience to indoctrinate certain opinions related to his view of appropriate actions and accepting consequences for behaving outside of what Mr. Rogers views as acceptable? Right and wrong is all relative. Mr. Rogers Neighborhood does not provide an equitable and just representation of all demographic sub-sects." Professor Humdinger further went on to point out other examples of economic differences on the program that some viewers may find disturbing. " For one, the shoes. Not every child, or adult for that matter, is in the economic situation to have two pair of shoes. Some have not even one good pair of shoes. But what does Mr. Rogers do? Every episode, rubs it into the faces of viewers that he has at least two pair of comfortable shoes, one just for his leisure, loafing around the house. Leisure, what's that in such an unjust nation as this?" Professor Humdinger also points out many children can’t exactly make out what Mr. Rogers was putting on his feet due to the lack of a Nike, Adidas, or Reebok logo. Professor Humdinger has petitioned PBS for years to yank the program as he feels it can instill feelings of inadequacy in younger viewers. In the wake of current events, administrators at PBS have decided to examine Professor Humdinger's claims before allowing the program to continue to air. Differences in clothing, behavior, person to person interaction, cleanliness, hygiene, racial relations, and relations with agencies entrusted with public safety are but some examples Professor Humdinger cites as unacceptable to present to younger viewers. Professor Humdinger asserts much of Mr. Rogers’ behavior is bewildering, even foreign, to viewers unaccustomed to such conduct. Professor Humdinger further believes that the long term impact of what he views as " Mr. Rogers’ unrealistic behavior, can be damaging once children start viewing other media outlets that reveal to them a more main stream view on reality." Rueters reached out to Jack Mehoff for an interview. No response has been given at this time.

Subdeacon Joe
Unfortunately some emotional cripple will see this, take it to heart, and start demanding it. Along with reruns of The Andy Griffith Show.

Along with reruns of The Andy Griffith Show. There were guns on the Andy Griffith Show indicating it has violent episodes so yes it should be taken off the air. Besides look at the unsafe gun handling by Barney which should also disqualify this program.
