If you're gonna honor a group like the Army please don't call them the Green Machine. That's reserved for the real bad asses the USMC. Also know as Devil Dogs. Leathernecks, Grunts, etc. 

Anyway happy birthday to all you Doggies out there. Semper fi.

Wrong. We were calling that in 66. Keyword is Big, which the Army is. ;)

Happy Birthday Army!! Thanks for keeping our air base 5 star barracks safe and our health clubs. Also just as important is our NCO clubs

Not really. Only Infantry and Special Forces are authorized CIBs. Can’t see his collar brass close enough to discern the branch. can’t tell what his CSIB on the right pocket is. No Combat Action Badge. The skill qualification badge next to his weapons badge might give a clue but it’s too small to see also. Ditto with his regimental DUI above the foreign jump wings. Not The Old Guard which I initially assumed. Maybe an armor guy. Arty?

The fact is most soldiers are in support role, not direct combat. Hollywood makes it seem different.

I was taught there were two branches in the Army:

 

Infantry and Infantry-Support
