John Kloehr
Phosphorus. Can release phosphines. Read the MSDS here: https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/71/7163e126-8711-4c1d-b330-625107cfffa9.pdf Don;t get it in your eyes, use in well-ventilated area. Wash hands after use, yada yada yada. Phosphorus compounds are common as rust converters, and this product has something else in the fluid to disperse the converted products rather than creating a hard black crust where the rust was. Do a search on using a car battery charger to remove rust. That can create explosive hydrogen gas yada yada yada, but is a simpler process chemically. I have not used this product but do not see any obvious objection. I just know there are simpler cheaper ways of accomplishing rust remove but I did get an A in my one semester of college chemistry. Joke 'um
Mark Novak, on youtube, has several/many videos on stabilizing and removing rust without destroying remaining finish. Give him a look first if you care about maintaining originality.
