Irish Pat
I would like to change out the rear sight on a uberti 1873 rifle. Seems I remember they need to be done in only one direction. Any one got some knowledge or advice for me. On the best way to do it. Irish ☘️ Pat

Garrison Joe, SASS #60708
Front or rear sights go in and come out the same directions that ammunition does! Left to go in, right to come out. The dovetails are tapered and there's only the right way, and all others are wrong and can damage the dovetails. Good luck, GJ
Dusty Devil Dale
Usually sights and tapered pins go in right to left, and out left to right. That's USUALLY. Used guns can be modified, who knows how, by prior owners. If you have doubts, measure the two visible ends of the pins or dovetails. They never lie.
