Yul Lose
I posted quite awhile ago about Rosie’s Cafe on Grand Avenue in Escondido, Ca. They were on Restaurant Impossible a year ago I believe. In December the owner Kaitlyn was riding her motorcycle and was struck by another vehicle and critically injured. The employees, community members and her family were doing a pretty good job of keeping it going and when she was moved to a rehabilitation center to learn how to walk and get back to a somewhat normal life the Food Network Restaurant Impossible did a benefit on Grand Avenue to raise money for her medical bills. The show was just broadcast the other night and they managed to raise over $180,000.00 and then the covid fiasco hit and it all fell apart. I drove past the cafe today and they were taking down the sign and I found out this evenIng that they won’t reopen. Sad news for sure but not unexpected. Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217
This makes me so sad. I missed the episode and hope to see it as a rerun. I like the show, Robert, Taniya, Tom, and all of the restaurateurs who have been helped despite themselves.
