WTB USFA Bisley style hammer for a SAA

Recommended Posts

I don't think it will work. The Bisley in a Colt or Colt Clone is very different than a SAA. The hammer/hammer spring are totally different in how they fit together. Look at this exploded view to see the stirrup arrangement at the top of the spring. I think the frame is different as well, placing the screw at a different place. I think your only choice will be to have someone do a cut and weld, which would call for two hammers, one SAA and one Bisley.

Thanks, I appreciate that.  But not wanting a Colt Bisley hammer.   USFA made hundreds of Bisley styled hammers to fit their SAA style guns.  The hammer I am looking for is USFA made and drops right in to a USFA SAA.  Hard to come by these days.   But not the best SASS hammer.

Looks real similar to the one on the far right.
