Coyote Kid, SASS#54714
I have a pair of Stampedes 38/357 that I started with 20 years ago and I'd like to make them a unique one of a kind. OK, I'm bored and need a project. Question 1: Will a Uberti birdshead backstrap fit a Stampede without gunsmithing? I don't like the look of the Beretta Marshall grip. To "Thunderer" looking. Question 2: Would it be better to have a gunsmith cut the existing 5.5 barrels down to 3.5 like the Marshall or buy the replacement barrels from VTI? If the gunsmithh shortens the barrels, the ejector rod shroud would have to be shortened also. Can that be done. Inquirering minds want to know. So have at cowboys, whatcha think. What I think is that with the things you want to do or have done I think you would be ahead to sell these and buy a set of pistols that match your intended outcome. I think you would be close to even, maybe even money ahead.
