Brandon Mavericks
Curious as to what the oldest gun you take to matches to shoot? I love the old guns but budget wise can't afford so have replica's. I am planning in picking up a nice Winchester 73 at next years Winter Range. Not for matches but just for collection and non match shooting. H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619
I am reasonably certain that this is by far and away the oldest gun I've ever shot a match with, and certainly the oldest one I own. I am not sure exactly how old it is, or even which model. As you can see, the model number is obscured. It's either a model 63 or a 65. Serial number is in the 17000 range. It's a sweet shooter. Waxahachie Kid #17017 L
I have since retired him, to just pasture plinking, but my oldest single action handgun would be a Colt single action, shipped in 1922. The other is for long distance...a model 1895 Winchester, saddle ring carbine, made in 1915. For Wild Bunch fun, I use a 1911 Colt, shipped in 1918. W.K. Captain Curly Strait
1886 from 1887 re-chambered to 45-70. Haven’t been able to shoot it in a match yet, but hope to soon. Besides a new chamber and rifling, it just got new wood. The old stocks were “shot”.

Abilene, SASS # 27489
Colt 45 made in 1901. It left the factory as a 4 3/4 38-40. I've put a couple thousand rounds through it.
