MLB Regular Season opening of July 4th!

Great!

I believe seeing MLB games being played will be a great moral and psychological boast.

At least it will for me!!

Winless and tied for first.

They're still .500. Boy, you're just a glass half-empty kind of guy!

The owners are presenting a plan to the players today about starting the season on July 4 or around there. No fans in the stands.

STAY TUNED!!!

I’d rather listen to a good radio team call a game than be there in person.

Marty Brenneman and Joe Nuxhall were the best of all time.

You should check out Tom Hamilton with the Indians! The guy is simply awesome. I turn of the sound on TV and listen to "Hammy"!!

Same here but the newer play by play folks just don’t have the same aura, I guess you’d call it. Maybe we were spoiled, Charlie.

Nothing beats being in a ball park on a sunny spring day or mild evening as the sun goes down over the left field fence. Sure you miss the replays and the constant interjecting of stats, analysis and speculation. I enjoy listening to a great broadcasting team too.
But I’d rather be there eating a stadium dog, enjoying a beer, smelling the turf, yelling at the ump, and singing Take Me out to the Ball Game during the stretch (although that’s rare these days :().

America!

Definitely spoiled.

I once wrote the Reds and suggested they offer a low power radio signal that instantly broadcast Marty and Joe in real time. That would have added so much to my Riverfront experience. Alas, nothing ever came of it.
