Dirty Dan Dawkins
“To be governed is to be watched, inspected, spied upon, directed, law-driven, numbered, regulated, enrolled, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, checked, estimated, valued, censured, commanded, by creatures who have neither the right nor the wisdom nor the virtue to do so.”- Pierre-Joseph Proudhon

Pat Riot
I have found that people that like chaos and anarchy do not like it when it affects them.
Ozark Huckleberry
Anarchy is not a system. It is a state of transition. Sooner or later, someone comes along and imposes rules, even if it’s a warlord with a fleet of technicals.

His statement on governed is at the extreme end of the scale. Seeing as how he was French, I can understand how he formed that opinion.

I find myself being generally libertarian, as in I prefer the smallest government, with the least laws and regulations as possible. At their roots, democracies and democratic republics are governments by the people themselves, even if via representatives. Thus, "we get the government we deserve," and to the extent the statement is true, the people only have themselves to blame.
