The Original Lumpy Gritz
If it's a JM. Take the first 2 numbers of the serial number, and subtract that from 2000. That will tell you the year made. You may want to adjust your title to add WTT(want to trade). Good luck, OLG
Whisky Dave
Updated! Thanks Lumpy. According to the formula you suggested, it was produced in 1996.

Lastcall Ranger
What is the length of pull (from the butt to the trigger)? Was the stock shortened when the recoil pad was installed? I've got an 1866 in 45 Colt I have had for 16 years or so, never fired, still NIB, I may be interested in parting with. thought it was a good idea at the time, but just never transitioned to it. Whisky Dave
I'd love to see it. The distance from the end of the stock to the trigger is 13 inches without the pad. 14 inches with. I have no ideal if it was shortened. I bought this from ots original owner.
