Actually, kinda cool, and not self-centered at all.  Some folks need a visual reminder that it is not all about them.  Most folks are not at personal risk - but us old geezers are.  Average age of fatalities due to virus in MA is 81.  So before you decide you're tired of being denied your right to tan, consider that you may be helping to kill grandpa and grandma.

In Oxnard you can go to the beach and sit in the sand but not in a chair.
In San Diego you can go to the beach, but you must keep moving, you can't sit down.

I've seen The Gav and his threat to the people of California when they didn't heed him and dared to go to the beach.  Yes, in the ground level photos it sometimes looks like they are cheek by jowl.  But every aerial shot shows plenty of distance between the little clusters (likely close friends or family who would be together in a house anyway).

How is sitting in a chair on the beach more dangerous than sitting in the sand?  How is keeping moving - in which you are  likely to break the 6 Foot Rule multiple times - safer than sitting on the beach 20 feet from anyone else?

And, will we face these same kinds of draconian measures in the fall when we start seeing thousands of deaths from influenza?   Oh, yes, "We have a VACCINE for the flu!" which means what?  That the 20,000 to 80,000 deaths every are are fine?

We are setting a very dangerous precedent for setting aside the entire Bill of Rights in the name of public safety for 6 months of the year.

One thing that I have noticed is this CoVid Crisis has put people at odds with each other over suppositions, rumors, medical ignorance and fear.

Let’s not be like the rest of the world and turn on each other over things we cannot ourselves control. :)

Photographers Ólafur Steinar Gestsson and Philip Davali conducted an experiment for the photo agency Ritzau Scanpix. The Copenhagen-based artists photographed the same people chilling out outside on the same day. Their trick was to use two different perspectives—a wide angle and a telephoto lens. The pictures show a staggering difference in the distance between these people and make us rethink the things we take for granted.

Bored Panda contacted Kristian Djurhuus, the editorial manager at Ritzau Scanpix, who appointed Philip Davali and Ólafur Steinar Rye Gestsson for this shoot, to find out more about the project.

Kristian told us how he came up with the idea: “The proximity of people has widely been debated in Denmark in the past weeks. Danish politicians and authorities have frequently referred to images which they believed to show members of the public behaving in disagreement with the general guidelines.”

S.J. that is it in a nutshell.

I routinely use long telephotos for the exact compressive effect you show above.

Thank you. I was looking at some of the photos when The Gav threw his little tantrum because Californians decided that going to the beach and maintaining the 6 foot rule would be a good thing on a hot weekend.  None showed them packed in like the press was telling us.

This is the same technique used by the media when they get in close to show all 12 people attending a Beto the Fake Mexican™ rally.
Back away, and the minuscule crowd is seen for what it is.

This is visual fraud at its best... using camera tricks to make what is actually False to appear as True.
