Father Kit Cool Gun Garth
Another COOL find. If you go to a Members' Profile page, you will see the following for example: But double click on the background, and you will discover the full picture! Others are more elaborate: The same goes for their Profile Picture, although most do not reveal anything more, but you'd be surprised. You may even find more surprises: Did you know he was hiding that rifle in the bed of his truck? There are many others out there to find. Happy Hunting. If you go to a Members' Profile page, you will see the following for example: But double click on the background, and you will discover the full picture! WOW! That is a cool find, thank you! That photo was taken in 2008 at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Camden Point, MO. We were on our way back to CA from Gettysburg and towing a cannon on a trailer . There was lots of road construction going on and a sign "CAUTION! NARROW LANE. 9' 6" (or close to that)." Now, I didn't know just how wide the trailer was so, since I was also down to about half a tank of gas I pulled off to fuel and to measure the trailer (turned out to be about 8' 5" - plenty of room). A couple of gentlemen, must have been in their late 80s, came over and asked about the gun, and then mentioned that there were some Confederate graves nearby, and one offered to lead us there. Finished feiling, and the usual pit stop, one of the gentlemen hopped on his scooter and led us towards the cemetery. Got to a cross road and he pulled over and pointed "Take this left and then the first left!" and rode off. So we went, paid our respects. For more about the goings on in the period of the Battle of Camden Point see that link and also this one to the NY Times. I used my flip phone to take the photos, and it turned out that I had missed one marker (or, more likely, accidentally deleted it before I could send it), so I appealed here in the Saloon and sure enough, one of the pards here sent me a photo of the one I had missed, which was Pvt. Smith.
