Browning Double Auto

Recommended Posts

Just lined one up to buy. Besides Cowboy I'm a very keen trap shooter.

My main gun is a  1961 Browning A grade O/U..this auto  will be a back up but I think I will be using it a lot ! Love the old Belgium hand fitted Brownings. The auto is becoming a collectors item & the one's with the different colored  alloy receivers are getting hard to find..mine is the blued steel , can't wait to take it for a shot.

Anyone have one ?

In case someone says 'huh' regarding an auto in Australia..you can have one for trap/ skeet etc  with a medical certificate.

My first trap gun, which I still have, was a Browning BT-99. It was also my father-in-law's first trap gun. I have a couple nicer and more expensive, but none so special to me.

One of my worst decisions was to sell my A5" Sweet Sixteen" back in  1980 or there about.  I bought it "used", but unused in 1976 or '77.  The gun had never been fired and it was an estate sale.  I got the drools for a Remington 700 in 7mm Remington Magnum and sold the Browning to pay for it.

I always wanted a double auto, they always seem to stay a few hundred over what I'm willing to pay. I was told they were invented by John Browning's son so auto loader shooters could reload as fast as a double shooter.

There is one on Gunbroker with a starting bid request of $650.
