It was about 40 years ago my wife and I went to  NYC and went to the World TradeCenter..to the top. I didn't lose anything there, didn't find anything worth going back for, and if I had a bucket list of places to go, NYC would be below hell.

There are city people and country people. Unfortunately the city types tend to be Liberals (I know that’s a generalization) and they are largely controlling things these days.

Let me share a quote from the Dean Koontz novel I’m reading. He just introduced a character named Carson Conroy, who is a medical examiner in a rural California county. He retired there after a career in the Medical Examiner’s office in Chicago after his wife was killed in a drive by.

Born and raised a city boy, and black, he had expected that adjustment to this rustic environment would be taxing to say the least; but it was smooth beyond all expectation.....

The people were not as he had been warned to expect. For forty years or longer, in most of the country, there had been a sophistication and fair-mindedness in rural counties and small towns about which many city dwellers and members of the media seemed clueless.

I like Koontz books. They’re wild and creepy, and scary, and smart with an underlying thread of morality and human spirit triumphing over evil.

I was there in '88. That was enough for me.

The only big cities I like anymore are located in Cheyenne, WY. ;)

Someone ought to tell Cuomo his Communistic / Socialistic closed mindedness has  no place in the United States of America.

I lived and worked there for two years early in my career. I left because I found day to day living too much of a struggle. Still, I'm glad to have had that experience.

And just so you know, there are many average New Yorkers who share our values and aren't the liberal dirtbag stereotype that's so easy to hang on them.

You mean like how people lump all Californians together as a bunch of leftist whack jobs?

I am assuming you are not lumping all of us "people" that don't live in CA in that prejudiced group.

We've visited Manhattan a few times over the decades and always had a lot of fun there. We did one drive up the Hudson, to West Point, up to Saratoga, then to the Saratoga Battlefield, then to Albany, thence on to Massa huchets.

Wouldn't want to live there, but enjoyed the visits.

Assume anything you like. It’s your assumption, not mine. :P

I really feel for the folks who live in New York and California who have to put up with this kind of statements for their supposed leaders. I know that there are many people who are basically "stuck" living in these States due to family commitments, jobs or budget restrictions. Lumping everyone who has to reside in these States as liberals, gun hating socialists is just another form of prejudice.

Don't get me wrong, I can't stand Cuomo, Bloomberg, Newsome and many others who choose to obstruct, deny and further try to restrict  Second Amendment rights. I just don't believe that all that live in New York, California, Illinois, New Jersey and other restrictive States deserve to be lumped into the liberal bucket.

I don't see no fishing holes, Dank.

But other than that, I could live there.

Probably some good water coming off those hills, somewhere nearby.

We vote, But we're out numbered by the liberal strongholds like the 5 boroughs,  Albany and a couple other counties.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo again has New York City to thank for big win

Oh, there's fishing around. You'll need a jeep or truck or good hiking boots to get there though.

What percentage of residents actually voted in the last election

cuomo wasn't up for reelection the last election, we have 2 more years before we can try to get rid of him. That is if the NY Repub committee runs and supports someone that has a chance of beating him.

Never been to New York and I have no desire to go there, to liberal for me. I was born in a small town in Iowa surrounded by cornfields.   To quote John Denver;  "Thank God I'm a country boy!'
