Anyone shooting a pair of engraved guns?

Not a pair, but I usually shoot with at least one engraved gun. Some are cimarron or Taylor’s laser engraved. Like this cattle brand. Then there’s this EMF great western 2 model, which funny story I ordered it because I thought it looked close to the Shootist gun, which was also a great western. I told that to EMF when I ordered it and that’s what they call it now. Shouldn’t I get royalties? And finally this old scratched up gun names Lucky. Not that special I suppose, but a fantastic shooter.

I've been shooting these USFA Rodeos for over 15 years now...

Shot em so much I wore off the Nickel Plating.

Sent em off to APW Cogan last year to re-do em in brushed Hard Chrome.........

I do believe they'z just as Purdy as ever !!!!!

Life is Too Short to shoot Ugly Guns...............

I figger if I can't shoot guns good, I should shoot good looking guns.

I'll go along with that.  But, I am sorry to say that I don't have a pair of engraved pistols.   At the moment, I have only one, and this is it.

The engraving is actually kind of minimal, but it is there.   It looks even nicer in its case...

Believe it or not, I found this thing for five hundred bucks.   Including the conversion cylinder.

Of course are far as pretty guns go, I think this one is my prettiest, even if it's not engraved...

There's just something about being able to say that you are a "man with a golden gun."   It came with mother of pearl grips which I replaced with the pictured wooley mammoth ivory ones.

Jerry Harper,  SASS 'Vinagaroon'   (hope I spelled it correctly,   has more accolades in our sport

and the shooting world than most of us realize.   Even from my limited knowledge, when COLT

wanted some 'special' work done on their 1911's,  Jerry was the man they called on for the job.

I didn't know him very well, especially as others did in this sport/game.   Basically, he was local

and loved shooting at Oak Ridge, Ocoee Rangers, Old Town Hooten, and a few other Cowboy

hangouts.

Nice Pistols, Levi.   You should feel honored to have something that Jerry has embellished.

No doubt, he was an artist and professional in his work.

And I might add, a true gentleman to know and talk with..... and shoot with.

I was on gunbroker looking for Colt JR and found a gun once owned by hank williams jr, factory engraved, nickle, .45 ivory grips, with a signed letter from HWJ that he once owned the gun. I don't think we can post links to auctions, but you should be able to find it with out trouble if interested. The price is high but I see them getting that kind of money from factory engraved Colts.

No question an artist and it really showed in his work.    Another pair of Jerry's work.   May be the nicest pair of traditional Colts I have ever seen.  Built on 3rd Gen guns with all the subtle 1st Gen details added.    I regret not being able to spend some time talking with Mr. Harper and  obtain more of  his work early on.

Back about '06 my then 14-year old son, the Sassparilla Kid, won a drawing for some work by the late Texas Jack.

Far from museum quality but nevertheless fun, he whittled on the Kid's Beretta Stampedes.  Gotta love the sarsaparilla bottles poppin' their corks on the butts!  ^_^

My engraved rig. Pistols (Berettta Stampedes) and rifle (PUMA 92) were engraved by Line Cutter (Ken Burklow) in Charlottesville VA. He does some fine work a true master. The shotgun came that way from the factory in Germany over 100 years ago. Not the best main match shooter but the guns certainly give me style points.

Many of our pards will not be able to see JPEG File Interchange Format (.jfif), three-part images.  If you convert them to .jpg before uploading folks more will be able to see them.  The JFIF format is not used often and has been superseded by other improvements to the JPEG format.

Not the best picture, but here's mine.No photo description available.

To the  contrary, this is quite a nice photo. Sharp focus on the engraved barrels, and then the focus gets fuzzy as you look farther back.

Besides, it's quite sexy without being risque, with the black fabric background.

Nice pistols, too.
