Guns related to virus?

How they work. Let's tie gun violence into the Corona virus pandemic.

Forgetting that the shootings they are bemoaning are all in Chicago, where there is no bail required, and the State's Attorney rarely prosecutes gun crimes as felonies.

DJ,

I’m asking you to join me in urging the Illinois Senate Judiciary Committee to prioritize public safety by calling for a vote on SB 1966 the BIO (Block Illegal Gun Ownership) Bill. While the Coronavirus pandemic is top of mind for all of us, the gun violence epidemic is continuing to rip apart our communities.

EMAIL THE ILLINOIS SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND URGE THEM TO PASS SB1966

Let me explain why your action today is so important:

Last week our state took the most aggressive step yet to slow the spread of Coronavirus. Governor JB Pritzker ordered Illinois residents to stay at home. While our everyday lives come to a halt, the gun violence epidemic continues to plague our communities.

On Saturday, the first full day of the stay-at-home order, four people were shot and wounded in Chicago. That was one more non-fatal shooting than the same day last year. By Monday night, 13 people were shot and wounded and one man was shot and killed. Chicago's shooting epidemic co-exists with the new coronavirus pandemic.

Illegal guns put every community in danger. While emotions are heightened during this stay at home order, it is now more important than ever we put safety measures in place to block illegal gun ownership.

It’s time for Springfield to prioritize public safety NOW by passing SB 1966 the BIO (Block Illegal Gun Ownership) Bill. The Illinois legislature is currently considering a shortened session with a small package of prioritized bills. In this critical hour, the Illinois Senate Judiciary Committee needs to hear from you.

My son-in-law is a native of New Orleans.
He says NOLA is actually the murder capital, not Chicago or Baltimore.
The reason is the way they report homicide.
If the guy dies where he is shot, it is a murder.
If he dies sometime later at the hospital, is a death by an assault.
He says this is done to avoid scaring the tourists with the murder rate.

I have not vetted this for accuracy
However, consider my SIL's position of very heavy responsibility, and his serious nature, I take this as accurate.
Here in Sacramento, our crime rates are way down, because they will neither arrest nor prosecute for crimes.

After Katrina, NOLA went door to door confiscating guns.
They were sued, and had their butts kicked in every court all the way up to the state supreme court.
To this day, those confiscated guns have never been returned.

Gun-grabbers use EVERY emergency (real or make-believe) to confiscate guns.
