A friend told me.. get this....

Recommended Posts

...that her daughter’s husband’s mother works for Univision (the Spanish language network) and they're going to announce the full blown nobody-can-leave-their-house-quarantine in two days. I didn’t bother to respond other than ask her to repeat it again slowly so I understood. No point in discussing it rationally with her.

The insanity continues.

My Daughter has a friend/coworker who swears that Trump released the virus. There is no reasoning with some people. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to hide my toilet paper.

I predict that in nine months there will be a lot of babies born as a result of this.

They will all be named Charmin and Scott.

And in 13 years after that, they’ll become “quarin-teens”.

Thank you. I’ll be here all week. Tip your waitress and bartender.

I heard gruesom is planning to spend $5 million to buy 1000 trailers for the homeless. I am all for doing what we can to help the homeless, but damn, $50,000 per trailer can buy a really nice trailer.  Someone is likely lining their pockets if this is true.

It’s $5,000 per trailer.

Oh damn, my mistake. Had an extra zero in the numbers. But I doubt the pols in CA will only spend $5000 per trailer.

I've talked to people who believe there will be bread lines like in the depression when they close the grocery stores. First of all they're not going to close grocery stores and my mom and dad (both deceased) lived through the depression and they said they never had to stand in a bread line! Just sayin'.....:o

If we are quarantined for an extended period of time, women will not have hair color, makeup and nail polish.  It is going to get ugly.

Nevada is on a 30 day stay inside all non-essential businesses to be closed. Sort of. All the casinos have closed. Some restaurants and fast food places let you place an order and they will bring it out to your car. Someone asked if gun stores are "essential". Sort of like double secret probation. Stay indoors but you can go to the grocery store, bank, gas stations, doctor etc.

30 cases in the entire state. Me thinks this and the rest of the leadership in this country are making something out of nothing. SO far less of an issue than the swine flu and nothing was hardly said in the news back then.

Maybe it's all about hiding the fact that Trump will win and Joe won't remember to vote!

My son told me that he heard those who “recover” will lose a significant amount of respiratory function (I.e. 30%+  loss).

Has anyone heard or read anything like this? If this true it is news that should be broadcast. So far I’ve only heard this from my son.

Could be true. One of the nastier side effects of getting the Covid -19 virus is viral or bacterial pneumonia.

Now I'm wondering how long this has been around. Back in September, I started feeling bad with shortness of breath and dry cough. Got bad enough that I went to the doc, had a chest x-ray and he said bacterial pneumonia. Got antibiotics and and it kind of got better but not complete, started to get worse. October 2, started coughing up blood. Went to the hospital for 9 days, all in a negative air pressure room as they were worried about TB. Ended up that they said the infection was related to strep but they weren't sure. I smoked 2 packs cigarettes a day for 40+ years, quit cold turkey. Before the "pneumonia", I had no problems with lung function. I've had all the tests for lung cancer, nothing.....but I have considerably reduced lung function.

Could this have been around a bunch longer than stated? Got to wonder.

Okay, that article says the virus can live on doorhandles for 4-5 days. I just satw a virologist say that cardboard, like Amazipon boxes was the best medium for live virus and that it was 24 hours!

We are really getting bombarded with conflicting info from different sources!

There is a whole family of Corona virus diseases. SARS is one. This is why they have officially named this particular virus Covid -19 instead of just Corona to avoid confusion.

No doubt...  but I was only focused on the part about "possible diminished lung capacity" in response to Cactus Jack's query.  Even that's still not clear, although a consideration.  Hence my "Could be some substance to it."

Diminished lung capacity is a way of life for me.

Recovered coronavirus patients can be left with damaged lungs, researchers in Hong Kong have claimed.

A small study of 12 patients discharged from hospital showed that two or three had reduced lung function. However, it is too early to confirm any long term effects.

"In some patients, lung function could decline by about 20 to 30 percent after recovery," says Dr. Owen Tsang Tak-yin, medical director of the Infectious Diseases Centre at Princess Margaret Hospital in Hong Kong. "They wheeze when they go a little faster".

Yes, I know. After reading some of the other posts about possible symptoms of this virus, it just makes me wonder if hasn't be around for longer than previously stated.

An internet posting of an Italian Medical study of victims who have survived Covid-19.
It said not everyone had that much damage. My son did not know % of people effected.

So I guess this is more of the information that may or may not be significant.

The point raised by my son was all those young people on Spring Break are risking more than just being sick with a virus they are statistically likely to recover from. They may have serious lasting damage.
