Virus Inspired Hoarding

Sadly this sort of thing is human nature. Remember all the times we laughed at the guys who already had 50 hi-cap AR-15 mags, then immediately after a mass shooting went and bought two dozen more "for added insurance". During times of panic and stress there is something wired into our brain that says, in order to feel like we're in control of the situation we have to stock up and be sure we will never run out of something. People who normally only had a single bar of soap in their bathroom now have ten. Five cans of chicken noodle soup ain't enough, now you gotta have 20. And don't forget the long lines to get gas back in the early 1970s, even though there was still plenty of gasoline in the pipeline. People freaked out during the Arab embargo and had to keep their tanks filled at all times.

Let's just hope we never find out that aliens actually exist...

I have to take SWMBO to the eye doctor this afternoon, for an injection.

We usually have to wait quite a while because of the patient back-up.

Today, I think I'll start to cough as soon as I get to the waiting area.

See there?  Folks know what’s important!!

toilet paper

paper towels

bottled water

beer

Twinkies

Ding Dongs

(Basic necessities......not necessarily in that order)

If people didn't eat the twinkies and ding dongs they would not need as much toilet paper…

I take blood pressure medicine which gives me a dry cough all the time. I've been noticing more than a few stares lately.

If it's lisinopril, it did the same thing to me especially at night. Switched meds and no problem since.

I went to Sam's Club to pick up a prescription this afternoon.  Toilet paper and paper towels were completely sold out.  The pharmacist said in addition to paper products, folks are hoarding Twinkies and Ding Dongs.

Wow.

Twinkies and Ding Dongs"  good Lord, we've reverted to cannibalism.  :o  :(

I have hoarded spices that will make almost anything, except armadillo, taste good.

Communism or cannibalism....is there a difference?

So, what’s wrong with armadillo, anyway?  Another burrito opportunity!

Make sure you pick up a dozen cheesecakes.

First thing, I had a Dr. appointment. There were no patients in the waiting room. She has always shook my hand when I saw her. I mentioned (while giggling) that she didn't and asked if she wanted to bump elbows. She said no, I'm not shaking hands nor am I giving into the hysteria.

She wanted me to have a lab test and there was a lab in that building; so, I went there. It was in a room with a Family Practice. No one was in the waiting room. It took me 10 minutes in and done. That phlebotomist was the best; no pain, no bruise.

MMH, now you tell me about stocking up on cheesecake! Anyway, the stock of them was about normal; maybe, 20 or so on the shelf. I buy two at a time and they last about a month. At home, I try to not even look at them, as I think even that is fattening.

I thought I might pick up some TP at Costco. I didn't see any. So, I asked a fellow who was stocking. He said we don't have any nor do we have paper towels. I said, I've heard that is an issue. He said, "Yes, it's a thing."

I noticed the bleach shelf was empty and had a sign, "One per customer." Luckily, I don't use much bleach (except in the shower, not in the laundry-we shall just be dingy  ). Hubby gets mad when I do and says, "It's not good for the septic."

Same here.

I take lisinopril and at first I noticed a dry cough but after a couple weeks I was fine. Been taking 20mgs of that stuff once a day for 7 years.

Ya just figured that out?

It worked though.

Instead of a three hour exercise, we were in and out in less than an hour,

I was vacationing with my cardiologist, when she noted the cough and got me a different drug.

Cheesecake!
Allie, darlin', that sounds good!
I likes cheesecake, and havin' it for breakfast will be a delightful way to get started!

EDIT TO ADD: You mentioned just thinking about it is fattening.

When a sales rep comes in to our plant they often bring a big box of assorted doughnuts.

I'll tell the fellows to go ahead and take mine, I may as well just duct tape it to my middle, that's where it'll end up anyway!

Cannnibals just eat you.

Socialists take all your possessions and give you years of misery in return.

Communists like socialist take all your possessions and give you misery in return.
However when you complain too loudly, they either send you to a forced labor re-educated camp or if you are lucky they just execute you.

I've never understood why people use Charmin.

It is like wet particle board. When you rub it against something, pieces of it come off.

Every time I have used Charmin toilet paper, I end up with little paper balls stuck to my butt.

Just like this.

I was laughing at the wife a few weeks ago.

Went into her she shed.

She had 5 BIG cases of TP and about 4 big ones of paper towels.

She said Costco had a good sale. So she stocked up.

Which she tends to do on many things when there is a good sale going on.

Really paid off this time. We are in good shape for a good long while.

I absolutely detest these ads.

My Momma would have tanned my hide if I used the word "Heinie" for buttocks.  And they made a song about it.  Sorry, but there is nothing cute about bowel movements, dirty rear ends, toilet paper stuck on your buttocks, or any associated issue.  The whole series of ads is sick.

Now that I have established my position as an arbiter of good taste, watch your step!  :D
