John Boy Posted March 9, 2020 Share Posted March 9, 2020 Gas Check bullet bases with fps less than 1600 - no GC's are needed and softer alloy less than 15.4 (Lyman #2 ) can be used. Velocity with GC bullet bases greater than 1600 fps- gas checks are needed with harder alloys up to 20 Bhn depending on velocity for all smokeless reloads Example, for 30-30 rounds at 1700 to 2000 fps, I use GC's and 19 to 20 Bhn alloy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
