Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
DNA is recorded at birth, entry into USA, citizenship, application for gov’t services. Beyond that, international treaties merging databases, allowing extranational searches.
Widder, SASS #59054
Probably closer than we realize. It wasn't that long ago that we were reading Dick Tracey in the Sunday morning paper and thinking about how stupid it was to believe he could communicate thru his wrist watch. ..........Widder

Cat Brules
Cell phones and full computers will be miniaturized to the point a chip about the size of a quarter will be implanted in your arm, tuned to your voice and used via a heads up display that you operated with your fingers and voice. bgavin
Remember.. if the gov't is handling it... it will get screwed up. If the gov't was in charge of the Sahara, in 5 years we would have a sand shortage.

Five years later, it would be taxed. In 10 years, then the shortage would begin..... ..........Widder

Badlands Bob #61228
I'm much more concerned about the private sector getting access to all the DNA data. It will take targeted marketing to a whole new level. Insurance companies will deny you coverage based on your potencial for getting expensive diseases. Life insurance companies will base your rates, if they will even issue a policy, on your DNA profile. DNA is your complete biological make up. They are just scratching the surface of what they can tell about you from DNA. Just wait till the big money gets involved. If your DNA indicates that you might develop dementia or other mental health problem, then no guns for you. The possibilities are endless and we have opened the box. Sixgun Sheridan
I imagine that in the future there will be sophisticated weapons detectors set up everywhere in public, scanning everyone and everything that moves. Goodbye legal concealed carry. Everyone will have a chip implanted in them that allows authorities to track your every movement as well. .
J. Mark Flint #31954 LIFE
The Affordable Care Act mandated Electronic records keeping for all medical records. It isn't a matter of how long it will be, it is a matter of how long it has been.
bgavin
The movie "GATTACA" shows the end result of your medical history being available to insurers and employers. I no longer service computer systems for medical clients because of HIPPA penalties. If the records are hacked, the IT person can be held responsible.
