Rollan Cole
Hey y’all, i was shooting 2nd gen colts, which I still own and will shoot I’m sure...however, I didn’t want to cut into the top of the frame on a Colt for the nicer sights being used with the brass, yaddayadda.... so I bought a VERY nice set of stainless vaqueros and they are stainless with a 510- serial number. I was told these pistols are the 510 series pistol, but my pard is under the impression the 510 was only done as a color case harden finish, or “in the white” as Friday parts guns, more or less. Was the 510 made in a stainless finish? Or do I have morphadite guns?? Either way i dont care because cause I do really like the pistols, just trying to learn. Thanks! bgavin
510 is just a prefix of the New Model (three digit prefix) serial number range. Your Vaqueros above are a standard product in stainless. All of ours, both old model (pre-2005) and new model (post-2005) are stainless.
evil dogooder
I've got 2 stainless 510, one plain blued and 2 color case, all bought unaltered factory, but they did come from a ruger sales rep if that means anything.
Eyesa Horg
Not positive, but I believe the 510s have the hammer lock in the grip.
bgavin
I thought all the new model Vaqueros had the lock... dunno. My wife has the new model, mine are all old model.

Cowboy Junky
After you get the new sights on them get rid of the transfer bars and add half cock hammers for the 4 click homey feeling you are use too.
