Lessee here... 55 liters is 14 1/2 gallons... 15,000 gallons to fill the average swimming pool in California = a bit under three years to fill the pool.

I think that's a typo.  It's my understanding that it's 55 gallons... to be reduced to 50.  Which is still terrible.  :(

yes , and i just read the feds are draining one of the biggest reservoirs because the dam needs fixin for a 7.2 seismic event - if it failed it would devastate silicon valley , think they need a new line of thinking in their government , just sayin ,

We have very strict water rules here in the Central Valley.  It's disheartening to see our lakes full... we can't use the water, and it gets routed to Southern California, north to Sacramento, then out to the ocean.  Every attempt to build new dams or enhance existing storage is defeated by the D's in Sacramento.  :(

California does not have a water shortage.  We have a storage shortage.

Until the Federal government decides to do an in-depth audit of the election process in these corrupt states there is ZERO is say again ZERO chance of changing the current status quo. All the votes in the world cannot defeat a corrupt election process.

It's the same issue in Colorado. Any attempt to add water storage is shot down and the Front Range continues to take more of the Western Slope's water.

That's a bit of a stretch. But yes there is a lot of intertwining of powerful families and politics here. As is pretty much everywhere in this country though.

Talk to any farmer in the Central Valley about water.  The government won't invest in improved safer or new water reservoirs. But they spend billions on a bullet train that literally hasn't laid any track.

Without the Colorado River and the water from the Owens Valley Southern California wouldn't exist.

Maybe the Governor is doing all of this to see how far he can push people before they snap.

And yet California uses untold amounts of water Fracking. Something like 80% of the nation's food is grown here. Maybe a state of emergency by the feds could be declared if we keep screwing up the water allocation, giving way to seizing the rights and allocating it properly. Probably a dream though. And not that I trust the feds to do it right either. I guess we will figure it out when people start to starve.

Neither Newsome nor any legislator who voted for it will EVER AGAIN get a single vote from a woman.

End of law,

End of CA insanity,

End of Democrat control.

I have a theory that the rulers of california think they have too many people and are trying to make living there as intolerable as possible to run them off.  Apparently people will put up with a lot of crud to get those beaches and nice weather.  I wonder what the magic number is that'll make them fix everything.

Whats happening in California is... the boomers with money and good retirement funds are bailing to Nevada, Idaho, Arizona etc. Businesses are tired of the taxes, high wages and environmental crap.

Californias population has flatlined. Which means there are as many people leaving as there are being born, moving to, or entering the State illegally. Their tax base is shrinking. So they keep coming up with new taxes!

Ya... a "bit" of a stretch.

Gav's Aunt, Belinda Barbara Newsom (appointed UN Ambassador by Jimmy Carter), was married to Nancy's brother-in-law, Ron Pelosi; I believe he has long referred to Nancy as his "aunt."  Belinda's brother Bill was Gavin's dad.  He was a Superior Court, then Appellate Court Judge,  appointed by Jerry Brown back in the '70's.  Gavin's grand-dad, William Newsom Sr, helped get Jerry's dad, Pat Brown, elected governor 'way back when...

The "intertwining" is kinda complex, and goes back two or three generations.  Maybe not quite a "dynasty," but hints of such.

so why is it that progressive thinking always equates to limited rights , limited services and limited freedom --- kinda looks like communism to me , just sayin ,

to tie this back to SASS , its the limited access to guns and ammo that im seeing first then im concerned about restrictions on lead , next it will be venues to shoot , its hard enough for most of us to get to do what we love let alone having to fight for the resources to do it , a good clean - child friendly - welcoming sport , whats not to like about that as a progressive ? we even celebrate the indiginous and south of the boarder in much if not most of what we do - in an honest way , inclusive way , i just dont get why progressives always want to be regressive of your rights to be an individual ,

yes i get that - they have away of relabeling or outlawing the words they want to exchange for what fits the agenda of the day , as well as redirecting the attention in whatever direction they need to go to achieve their goals - none of which result in what was promised ,

they take our cowboy guns and ammo away and eliminate where we shoot but they ignore the gangs illegal guns and go so far as to slap them on the wrist with no jail time for using them , it tells me something about what they really believe in , just my 2 bits worth ,

i hope the california shooters of our SASS orientation find guns , ammo and venues to shoot at , we dont need to lose any more in this game , maybe NOBODY should vote for them and in fact GET OUT AND VOTE YOUR CHOICE , adain my 2 cents

Progressives are 100% about acquiring power over all of us.

They desire to dillute your faith, rewrite your history, destroy your traditions, degrade your social graces, kill your ambition, eliminate your God-given rights, take away your vehicle (ability to escape) and give you a bicycle, control your life-or-death access to food, water and healthcare, entirely eliminate your capability to defend yourself and/or resist them, force you to live in condensed living conditions, substitute their idea of Political Correctness for your Constitution and its required due process, and then, when you're under their control, they will decide what you "NEED".  And if you are a good subject, and behave to their favor, they will dole out what they think you deserve.

As you are trying to decide what you WANT, they plan to impose their version of what you NEED.

But the trouble is that America wasn't built on people accepting only what somebody else thinks they NEED.  Pursuit of Happiness means much more than that to those of us who grew up in this Country, contributed to it, and who love America.  That is why the Progressives always will hate every one of us.

All of this follows the old prescriptions contained within the 271 pages of UN Agenda 21.  It prescribed the step-by-step recipe to put the entire world under one Communist government.  It is still the Progressive's only Bible, and Saul Alinski is their Patron Saint.   Unity can never exist between us and them.

Water in the American West has always been a complex problem.  The major change is that consumption of water now outstrips supply to the point where the Colorado River doesn’t reach the ocean any more.

https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/the-colorado-river-runs-dry-61427169/

Storage will help in some localized areas, but you can only “store” a resource during periods of excess.  Those periods are diminishing rapidly.

Rest assured, these and other laws will only be for the little people and law abiding folks.  Celebrities and criminals will have all the water they need at your expense, you’ll get to see their estates from the air all lush and green if a drought sets in.  These are the same people that will try to tell you how to live with less and be a socialist.

I have never  before seen a government have such disdain and disrespect for its law abiding subjects in my life.  They continue to reward those that break laws and fine those that follow laws to pay for others to get free stuff.

This law was signed into law by Moonbeam in 2018. The "ration" from 2018 until now was 55 gallons. It is now 52.5 gallons. The difference is they claim it's assessed daily. What these morons in charge do not realize is water meters do not track daily usage. Also, I wonder what they plan to do in areas like Sacramento where the water board assesses water usage by the size of  your house and they estimate your water use and charge accordingly. When my wife an I lived in Elk Grove we were told we would be charged for 325 gallons of water per day. Even after I proved to them that we averaged about 50 gallons per day. They said "Tough luck, Pal. Pay the bill". So I did and I used the hell out of my water after that. I helped my neighbors fill pools. My yard got watered a lot. We took long showers, etc.

I am having a hard time staying here until my retirement in 3 years

That’s when they’ll get power by burning coal from the Powder River Basin in Wyoming.

Believe it or not, that's addressed:  Starting January 01 of this year, ALL new houses in california are required to have solar panels.

You now have to ask for a glass of water in a restaurant in california. Laundromats use "water efficient" machines. Our car washes recycle the water... literally filter the dickens out of the stuff and re-use it.  I'm surprised it doesn't come out of the sprayer as sludge.

Unfortunately I think California is an example of what this whole world will be like in another 50-100 years as the population continues to increase exponentially, and the strain on land and natural resources reaches breaking point. We will all be strictly governed as to where we can live, how we live, how much trash we can generate, and how much precious resources we are allowed to use. And you can bet that there will be no room for shooting ranges or gun ownership in general.

Charlie, that just ain't gonna happen.

California hates coal.  I can barely find coal for my forge... and when I do, it's outrageously expensive - $50/ 50 lb bag.  I suspect to see it outright banned in the not-so-distant future.

Quote

Lawmakers in Richmond, California, late Tuesday [Jan 14, 2020] voted to impose a ban on coal, targeting a terminal that handles about a quarter of exports from the U.S. West Coast.

Richmond is joining several West Coast cities that have prohibited shipping the fossil fuel through their ports, choking off key routes to some of the only coal markets in the world still growing. As utilities burn less coal in the U.S., environmentalists and lawmakers see the ordinances barring exports as a way to both limit pollution from coal dust locally and reduce greenhouse gases globally.
“I’ve got bigger ambitions than just Richmond,” Mayor Tom Butt said in an interview. “I’d like to get rid of coal worldwide.”

Damn.  They're so radically rabid they won't even allow the stuff to be shipped through the state!  Hm.  Childish, I suppose, but I'd suggest that the mayor's name is appropriate.  -_-

By the way - this is the same mindset "they" have toward shooting sports.

.
