Text message?

Howdy,

Seems there is a new game in town.

Text message. And it aint going away any time soon.

The OLD text message involved a lot of typing on a tiny keyboard.

It was terrible inmyopinion.

But now technology has  a little button with a microphone on it.

Its a real thing and widely available. Push that button and speak clearly

and watch your words turn into text.  The first few times its pretty impressive.

If your phone(and we almost ALL have one of these little bugs) doesn't have

this capability its time to get a new phone, yes even if the old one works fine.

The catch is the microphone sometimes types a slightly different word.

It can be funny or not funny at all.

So I still have to proofread BEFORE pushing the send button.

And no you don't have to spend $1500 to get this.

Target has phones with this ability for around $100 or so.

I switched phones and switched service and am saving about $40 per month.

So after three months I was using a 'free' phone.

After a year Im about $350 ahead of what I was paying with the old phone and Verizon.

VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

And the text message like email, waits until the person on the other end, has a minute to read.

I tried the iPhone and found it overwhelming.

Then I tried the android and got along with that system real easy.

At some point I might try the iPhone again???Maybe??

Now Im getting the hang of internet on my phone.

You don't have to learn it all at once.

Now it seems my phone can be connected to my doorbell.

And I can answer my front door from anywhere I might be....

Wow.

Best

I'm always a little, (OK, more than a little) apprehensive about trusting the security of these devices.

Oh, I use them.

I just don't trust their security.

After an "Incident" with my PC, (that my service provider claimed could not happen, but did), I just don't entirely trust or place total reliance on them.

If I keep the microphone button down and talk it sends my voice as a text on my I-Phone 6. It's kinda like talking on the phone! Hmm....there's a great idea!! Let's all just TALK on the phone!:o

Talk about behind the curve.  I've had an iPhone 6 for ever.  Well, since the 6 came out.  Just upgraded to an iPhone 8 (I don't like the 10 or 11 at all).  Just discovered Voice to Text.  Really cool feature.  I'm a dinosaur.

Howdy,

Keeping up with all the electronics has to be a full time job.

And more than one way to do things too...….

Its just too bad the phones distract and cause car crashes.

He was on the phone is often heard in court.

And often a lie....
