Jodi calls as ear worms...

Recommended Posts

This is a very frequent event for me. I spent 6 years of my career behind the podium teaching in the leadership academy. Plus 2 years on the trail. Sometimes it drives me crazy if I can’t get it out of my head.

Does anyone else remember:  "We all work for Uncle Sam

Soon we'll be in Viet Nam …." ?

G.I. beans and G.l. gravy

Gee I wish I’d joined the Navy

Technically of course a Jody call has to contain Jody. Otherwise it’s just a cadence call.

But a lot of Jody calls are not suitable for this forum.

 ................ er, ..... who is Jodie/Jody ?

A scurvy, mythical civilian who stays home and makes moves on the soldier’s girlfriend while he’s away.

Definitely rude, crude and socially unacceptable, which is why we sang them with such gusto!
Good memories of drilling behind the Armory and our voices, raised in joyful song, echoed back to us across the Ohio River!
