You measured it out to the 10/1000ths? Or did you mean 1.625?

Yes, 1.625"    My laser interferometer does not read 0.0001"

I believe that is standard size, as I measured one of my spares and it was the same. If it was 44-40 I would be a lot more interested.

I have one in 38 that has the non-standard older carrier. Most of the internals are not direct swap I am told. Mine started to have feeding issues, I bought a modern carrier to modify and that is the state it has been in for last 2 years..lol. I shoot 45 and 44-40 now.

Phil, are you sure that is a 20" barrel?  "Sporting Rifle" is the designation for 24" barrel (20" is called "short rifle"), and that barrel sure looks 24" to me.

It's a Navy Arms , "Yellowboy" , Short Rifle.   

 

Introduced in 2000. Features 20 barrel with buckhorn rear sight. Walnut stock with oil-finish. Receiver is yellow brass. Chambered for .38 Special, .44-40 or .45 Colt cartridge. Magazine capacity 10 rounds.
