He made many memorable Westerns.  I particularly like the War Wagon.  Also enjoyed his performance in the Roman epic Spartacus.

A good actor, I especially liked the westerns he was in.  103 years old, RIP Kirk.

Any recommendations concerning his Westerns? War Wagon with John Wayne was well known, as Gunfight at the OK Corral was, with Burt Lancaster. The others seem to have good casts as a rule, but I've never seen any of them.

Quite a guy.

It's kind of a modern western but "Lonely are the brave" was a very good one.

Not a western but "the Vikings" had a huge influence on me as a kid.

And of course Spartacus! Two great classic movies!

I was also a fan of Kirk Douglas.

But I have a question that I'm not sure of the answer:

Wasn't he in a movie where he and another actor were talking about life or death where he

made a statement something like:  "Not me.....I'm gonna live forever".

Or was that another actor?   Looks like I might have to visit Mr. Google.

..........Widder

Another one of the truly great actors gone. I wish some of these newer actors would take some life lessons from some of the older guys and gals. But I forgot...now we do away with history...

He was a real ACTOR.  The current group just call themselves CELEBRITIES.

The LAST of the golden age!

We still have Olivia de Havilland, one of the major stars of Gone With The Wind (1939), who is also 103 years old, and is currently living in Paris, France.

None of his movies were bad.  I especially liked “Seven Days In May.”

Same here. I liked Seven Days, but by the time I saw it, it was at least 10 years old. I thought "Tough Guys" was funny as all get out, really liked Eli Wallach in that one.

To me, he was always Spartacus.

Thanks for all of the entertainment and RIP Mr. Douglas

His performance improved any movie he was in.

Another of the greats from the western movie era gone. Not many of them left.  Clint Eastwood and Sam Elliot come to mind right away. Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones maybe and Tom Selleck.
