Wow! I found our house, which we bought in 1973 and lived in for over 40 years. . I can't believe how short the palm trees are in this photo. It is the house in the upper left, which is described as the Baliel House. They were the first owners. The house was built in 1900.

During WWII it was turned into six apartments. We turned it back into a single family home.

While I was Googling, I got the side too. Notice we removed the basement side windows. as they had no headers and didn't match the others. We also removed a window on the first floor back, same reason and put our laundry room there.

 

BTW that tree had wonderful oranges. Some were navels and some were Valencias; all were yummy.

I couldn't wait to leave (Hubby kept falling on the stairs by the time we left) for the country. It is six blocks from the Capitol. Seeing the before photos brought good memories of all of the work we did. Then, we were in our 20s when we moved there.
