West Virginia Next Committee Hearing For Important Preemption Bill

On February 3^rd, the West Virginia Senate Judiciary Committee will hear Senate Bill 96 to strengthen West Virginia’s preemption law. The Senate Government Organization Committee previously heard SB 96 on January 16^th. Please contact members of the committee and ask them to SUPPORT Senate Bill 96. 

 

Senate Bill 96 prevents municipalities from restricting a number of tools that law-abiding citizens carry with them every day. Preemption legislation is designed to stop municipalities from creating a patchwork of different laws throughout the state that may potentially turn a law-abiding citizen into a criminal for simply crossing a jurisdictional line.
